Summary of A Midsummer Night's Dream Act 1 Scene 2
In this scene 6 craftsmen are giving out parts for a play they are going to perform before the Duchess and the Duke on their wedding day. Quince is the head master, the one in charge and the one giving out the parts. Bottom is the "actor" that wants every part there is. He is to play Pyramus. Flute is the guy who has to play Thisbe, the lady Pyramus must fall in love with. He is not truly happy about this. "Nay faith, let me not play a women. I have a beard coming" is what Flute says when he is told he will play Thisbe's part. Starveling is the guy that will play Thisbe's mother. He is pleased to get this part. Snug is the idiot that has to play the lion. They will practice in the woods so no one will see them.
